TAKING AMY TO COLCHESTER ZOO - 24 January 2009
We arrived at Colchester Zoo with my mum’s god daughter Amy.
First we saw the sea lions. They made a lot of noise. We went into the tunnel were we could sea the sea lions swimming in the water. Along the walls were questions and facts but Amy just wanted to move on.
The next animal we saw was the Orang-utan. It was orange and very hairy. We didn’t stay there much as it wasn’t doing anything.
We went into a show with parrots and a lemur. The parrots flew over our heads and the lemur was showing us how he could climb.
We moved on to the squirrel monkey. They were so cute. There was a baby monkey that had been born a couple of days before. It was on its mother’s back and was so tiny. I wish I could have taken it home as a pet.
Dad kept taking pictures and Amy was getting bored so we moved on to the elephants. We watched them get brushed and feed from inside. Amy wanted to see the giraffes but they weren’t outside. They were inside keeping warm. Dad and Dom went to see the cheetahs being fed but mum, Amy and I went and saw the tortoises, the horrible insects, the fish and the hippopotamus. While we watched the hippo we had crisps and a drink.
We were on our way to the wolves when dad and Dom caught up with us. We saw the wolves with their sharp teeth and lastly saw the leopard with was cute.
We were now driving home and we were all tired out.
